Colorado is home to four premier glass art galleries: PISMO Fine
Art Glass in Denver, PISMO Gallery at Beaver Creek, PISMO Gallery
at Vail, and PISMO Gallery at Aspen. The Denver gallery, located
in central Denver, opened its
doors in 1990 as a mixed media gallery but, given the owner’s
love of glass, made the switch exclusively to glass in 1995.
PISMO branched out in 1997 and opened a second
location in Beaver Creek, Colorado. This lovely mountain setting
is approximately 110 miles west of Denver and is well known as one
of the world’s finest ski areas. In December 2000, the gallery
tripled its size when it moved to its new location in the very heart
of the village. You can’t miss the gallery - Dale Chihuly
designed a beautiful eleven-foot long electric blue chandelier for
the gallery’s atrium which is visible from all directions.
In the summer of 2002, PISMO opened its third
location, this time in the world-renowned ski resort and summer
vacation mountain setting of Vail, Colorado. Located in the heart
of Vail Village, PISMO Gallery at Vail offers visitors to the Vail
Valley the opportunity to enjoy the best in contemporary art glass.
In October 2003, PISMO added a fourth location in the breathtaking
town of Aspen, Colorado when it took over a well-established gallery,
The Rachael Collection, which had catered to glass collectors for
over twenty years. Aspen has long been known as a playground of
the rich and famous, and PISMO is pleased to be able to offer the
residents and visitors alike the highest quality of art glass available.
All four galleries offer a wide selection
of world-class art glass and experienced, helpful staff to assist
everyone from the casual admirer to the experienced collector.
